Philips

My Apple iPod earphones have been on the fritz lately. It’s probably fixable with a little soldering and electrical tape, but I don’t have a soldering gun here. I ended up picking up some Philips SHE2610 earphones since I didn’t want to drop another $50 on Apple brand. Less than $20 later I am entirely pleased.

Live8 Wrap-up

Saturday, July 2nd, 2005

I was able to make it to the second half of the Live8 concert last night. It was all right, but nothing to write home about; the other locales had the better acts performing. I’d like to hope that it was successful in raising awareness about poverty and AIDs in Africa at least to some degree.

I’m really not a fan of Pet Shop Boys, the headliners for the Moscow show, but I do dig Bi-2 and Delfin. They were quite worth seeing. I would have liked to catch the Red Elvises too, but it seems that I missed their short set. Oh well.

Here are a few shots from the night. I’ll have the rest up on Flickr sometime tomorrow.

It was just announced the day before yesterday that there will be a Live8 concert in Mosccow on July 2 on Red Square. Concerts will also be held in London, Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, Philadelphia, Rome, Johannesburg, and a few more cities.

There isn’t much info confirmed for the Moscow show, but it seems as though Pet Shop boys, Spleen, B-2, and Valery Sutkin will be headlining. I’ll try to make the show.
