A caffeine-induced bout of insomina last night provided me with sufficient time to redesign the site. The layout was starting to seem a little plain, so I decided to splash some color here and there.
A few new things:
- The photoblog link no longer directs you to the inactive ‘regular’ photoblog. It now points to my ACTR Moscow photoblog, which is much more active. From time to time I will change the photos in the sidebar of my blog to thumbnails of some of my favorite pictures from the ACTR photoblog. Click on the thumbnails to see the fullsize photo and commentary.
- I’ve added to the Contact page instructions on how you can send a text message to my cellphone for absolutely free (to both you and me). Give it a shot.
- I’ve decided to put a few mp3’s in the sidebar again. I’ve discovered some great new music over at David’s blog in the last few weeks, so I’m going to let you have a taste of what I am listening to every now and then.
- The site now almost completely validates under the HTML 4.0 standards. The only pages that don’t are the ones that have Russian on them. There seems to be some encoding hurdles that prevent validation there. Oh well. . .
It seems to load just fine in the latest version of Internet Explorer and Netscape, which is all that I’ve been able to test it on. Please, let me know if it doesn’t load properly in your browser.

Thanks for posting songs on your web site too 
It’s a easy way I’ve found out to share the music I’ve been listening with my friends.

I like the new design, and I wanted also to say that I plan on commenting on your Aimatov translation, but it’ll be a few days. I’m swamped at the moment.

David- My bad. I forgot to upload the mp3s when I redid the site. I don’t have them here with me now, so I will do that tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know that they weren’t there.

Hey Tom,
I like your new website. Sounds like you have had many adventures in Russia. Molly says “hi” and she misses you. Today we are putting up our Christmas Tree, once again it is quite large. Please take care of yourself, and we love you lots!
